About Rabbi Chanan Atlas
Rabbi Chanan Atlas spent many years of Torah study at the Har Etzyon Yeshiva combined with academic studies of Mathematics, Economics and Philosophy at the OUI. He served in a combat unit in the IDF and is a reserve Army Commander. Rabbi Atlas sat on the National Board of Jewish Education in South Africa; he headed a Jewish Leadership programme at IDC Herzliya and taught at the David Cardozo Academy in Jerusalem. He has also worked at Rabbi Riskin’s Straus-Amiel Institute, training young Rabbis for the Diaspora. Former Rabbi of Port Elizabeth Hebrew Congregation in South Africa and Birmingham Central Synagogue in the United Kingdom, Rabbi Chanan Atlas is currently serving as the Rabbi of Yeshurun Hebrew Congregation in Cheadle, Gatley where he lives with his wife Nechama and their five children.
